Here at ProgrammableWeb, we're huge advocates of API mash-ups and the hackathons which often encourage their development. Earlier this month at Hack the Midwest, the "Best in Show" award went to Qup (pronounced "kyoo-up"), a web application which combines Netflix, Rotten Tomatoes, and e-mail into a handy notification service for movie buffs.
Last week we reported on the release of another API by The New York Times: the Times Bestseller's API. Well it didn't take long for the API to make its way into a neat book recommendation engine called Reading Radar.
This article is an overview of the Events.com API, a tool that provides event coordinators with the functionality required to not only promote their events, but to manage and ticket them as well.
