Twilio has released a beta version of its Conversations API. The unified API allows developers to aggregate messages across channels (SMS, MMS, Chat, and WhatsApp) into a single conversation. Additionally, administrators can control the conversation and supplement with experiential features.
Today at its latest Campfire One event, Google announced major updates to Google App Engine, their scalable cloud computing platform for web applications. App Engine developers will soon be able to create web-scale applications using standard Java APIs, and will be able to create AJAX components using Google's Web Toolkit. Other major features include cron support for scheduling tasks, tools for securely accessing and importing data, and a new Google development plugin for the Eclipse IDE.
Application testing services in the cloud and service virtualization should naturally be joined at the hip. In fact, once most organizations become aware of service virtualization they tend to acquire both technologies in tandem. Recognizing that simple fact, SOASTA this week inked an alliance with CA Technologies. Under this alliance SOASTA’s application testing service in the cloud, CloudTest, will be integrated with Service Virtualization and the CA LISA Test software suites sold by CA Technologies.
