The AP Metadata Service that has internally powered the Associated Press' award-winning news operation is now available to third-party developers and publishers. The service is aimed at publishers looking to "add rich metadata to their content, enabling them to connect their customers with more relevant news and information." The AP delivers the Metadata service in a cloud-based offering via a set of APIs associated with the organizations news content.
Google recently announced the Display & Video 360 API. The API supports the company’s consolidated marketing platform and was designed to provide access to asynchronous Structured Data File (SDF) download functionality. Google has announced the first significant round of updates to this API.
Facebook recently announced that its Instant Articles SDK will support both Google AMP and Apple News. Facebook will provide such support through an extension to its Facebook Instant Articles SDK. In addition to cross-platform support, Facebook will also support styling tools across both platforms.
