Just yesterday, over 5000 developers gathered at the San Jose Convention Center for Apple’s WWDC 2017. In addition to the usual hardware overhauls and new products, Apple also announced some new APIs. These APIs include the MusicKit API, Core ML API, and the ARKit API.
The InternetDJ API opens this electronic music site to your app. Since 1997 (not a typo!) composers and fans have been able to share and mix music and videos. According to the API's website, requests are limited to 5,000 a day, responses are in JSON and an auth key is required.
In May, PW reported on Gumroad's API that aimed to simplify online transactions. Indeed, the earlier release did move Gumroad towards its goal: "to democratize the ability to sell stuff online." However, Gumroad's latest offer, Platform API, simplifies the online buying process even further. The earlier API required buyers to register for a Gumroad account and required the use of links. The Platform API removes the need for links and buyer accounts. Instead, an entire transaction occurs on the merchant's site.
