In Spring 2011, the New York Public Library (NYPL) launched one of the largest culinary data projects of all time: What's on the Menu?. The NYPL maintains one of the world's largest menu collections (around 45,000 menus dating back to the 1840s). The project aims to ease searching through this massive dataset. In simplifying menu search, What's on the Menu launched the first NYPL public API.
For busy mums with equally busy and demanding little ones, anything that can add convenience and simplicity to the everyday routine is a winner. One area where convenience is key, is shopping. GoMummy is an online flash sales shopping website for mums and kids, aimed at making the process easy and hassle free. The company now provides the GoMummy API which makes it possible for developers to take the idea even further by integrating the functionality with new websites and applications.
Twenty Five APIs have been added to the ProgrammableWeb directory in categories such as Streaming, Banking, Open Data, and Chat. Featured today are APIs from smart CAD API platform, CAD.ai and APIs from smart televison content discovery provider Kannuu. Have a look at what is new.
