Google announced that it is changing the way that delegate settings are managed within G Suite. The Gmail API is being expanded to handle these settings, and the Email Settings API, which had previously been used for controlling delegate relationships, will be deprecated as of October 16, 2019.
Today, Heroku makes a huge announcement around its support for PHP. PHP is currently one of the most popular languages driving the web. Although PHP drives the likes of some of the webs giants (e.g. Facebook, Etsy, etc.), PHP has traditionally lacked some qualities (e.g. runtime, management, infrastructure elements) that peers like Ruby on Rails, Python with Django, and Node have delivered for quite some time. On April 30, at Facebook's F8, a new PHP is announced with full Heroku support. On the evening of the announcement, ProgrammableWeb caught up with Heroku's Adam Gross.
Context.IO, an e-mail API provider, has announced a "lite" version of its popular Context.IO API. The Context.IO Lite API is not a replacement for the original API. Rather, Context.IO Lite started as a small project to improve Webhook performance. The potential of Lite quickly made itself known, so Context.IO decided to fully develop the Lite version and has now launched a beta version.
