Earlier this year, Google informed the world of its API go to market strategy surrounding Project Glass. Google has initiated its strategy with a private beta for the API, as well as an API name: Google Mirror API. The Mirror API, now in beta, will allow developers to create experiences for Google Glass. Google gave a live demonstration and overview of Project Glass and the Mirror API at SXSW.
Google added location insights to its Google My Business API. The feature allows businesses to retrieve a number of searches, views and actions about a specific business location made from Google resources (e.g. Google Search, Google Maps). Developers can aggregate data for actionable insight.
GoPollGo is all about creating polls, from running them during presidential debates to coworkers polling each other on where to go for lunch. It has two APIs. One is a public read-only API free to anyone. The other is private, in beta that allows third parties to create polls. Clients such as ESPN, Netflix, Hotels.com, Robert Scoble, AppleInsider and The Weather Channel, use GoPollGo to track opinions on their brands and businesses.
