Pinterest's Pin It button SDK enables the development of iOS applications. This kit allows one to generate Pinterest content with just a few lines of code. At the moment, this resource only supports adding an image from a URL. However, future plans include adding local images. To use the SDK, it is recommended to register with a Client ID in order to download the kit with its respective documentation. Files include the library: Pinterest.embeddedframework, docs, and the demo project using the SDK's pinit feature: PinItDemo.zip.
Several Months ago, Microsoft announced that the Bing Search API had moved to the Windows Azure Marketplace. This move would make the Bing Search API a paid service with a tiered structure. Developers have been given until August 1st, 2012 to transition to the new version of the Bing Search API.
During the past four months we've seen not one but two well known real-time search engines disappear. First there was OneRiot, which in October 2010 decided to focus on advertising. More recently, Collecta closed it's real-time search engine and API to focus on alternative real-time products. Digging further into real-time search offerings you will also discover that crowdeye has also decided to pull its real-time search engine. This now appears to leave Topsy, and of course Google as the main players focusing on building a real-time search destination. Does this trend signal the end for all real-time search engines or just that their focus has been wrong?
LinkedIn, the social network for business, has announced an enhanced version of its People Search API. While the V1 Search API contained some powerful and easy-to-use features, the latest additions for the new API are quite impressive.
