In an age of RESTful APIs SnapLogic is calling for a new integration playbooks that has been specifically designed for cloud computing environments. The company today unveiled a SnapLogic Integration Cloud that consists of over 160 pre-built connectors that leverage RESTful APIs in the cloud. As a platform-as-a-service (PaaS) environment capable of being deployed on a public or private clouds, Maneesh Joshi, director of product marketing for SnapLogic, says a new era of integration driven by APIs is making it cost effective for SnapLogic to pre-build connectors that can be now much more simply deployed on a multitenant version of the company’s Snaplex middleware platform.
Basho, a leader in distributed systems software, has announced the version 1.4 release of Riak CS and Riak CS Enterprise cloud storage software. The new version of Riak CS includes the integration with OpenStack and improvements to the Riak CS Users API.
At the Enterprise Connect 2014 conference today Cisco announced it will be working more closely with Google to integrate conferencing services with various Google APIs. Rowan Trollope, Cisco senior vice president for collaboration, and Rajen Sheth, a product manager for Google Enterprise, took the stage to show a prototype of the Cisco Webex conferencing service running on a Chromebook. In the future, Cisco and Google will make it possible to launch WebEx directly from Google Calendar and start an instant meeting from the Google Contact Card and the Google People widget. Users will also be able to connect with others by clicking on phone numbers or extensions displayed in Gmail or Google Apps.
