Pixorial, a video storytelling platform, has been slowly evolving over the last 5 years into a feature-rich and deeply integrated video sharing and editing tool. Pixorial offers smart phone applications, a nifty uploading utility, and seamless use within Google Drive. EVE Online, the internet spaceship game that puts all of it's players into one virtual universe, recently announced plans to license and monetize its EVE Online API. The proposed license would allow developers to make money from apps using the API in return for an annual fee. The details of the new licensing program were released by game developer CCP shortly after it's annual fanfest in Reykjavik, Iceland. EVE's player community quickly attacked parts of the license, prompting CCP to suspend the changes until later this summer when some of the concerns can be addressed.
The goal of HeyZap is to be the "YouTube of casual gaming" by giving site publishers a way to embed more than 6000 casual Flash games into their sites with a single embed code. Their business model (more detail from TechCrunch) is to collect revenue from ads within the games using the MochiAds ad platform and share some of that with developers. The publishers using the code don't get revenue, but get increased traffic to their sites.
