Changes to an API Terms of Service (TOS) are an inevitable part of API operations, and as API owners work to evolve their APIs, changes can often be at odds with the community. As some API seem to struggle with the best way to update, Google's approach appears to be more balanced. Google just updated its TOS for Google Earth and its popular Google Maps API.
Adcolony, once an app developer for iOS, is now focused on creating mobile HD video ads. The Adcolony APIs are two RESTful APIs, Publisher Earnings (which retrieves in CSV format) and MATA, which gives access to the CPI campaign statistics. Fields covered in the Earnings API are Date Range, Earnings, Completed Video Views, Fill Rate, Sessions, eCPM, DAU. The MATA API is based on the open standards from the Mobile App Transparency Alliance (thus the name), and uses HTTP authentication. It uses your user email and API key for verification.
A number of ad tech sources reported that Snapchat has engaged select ad partners for an advertising API development. Snapchat declined to comment, but many have anticipated an advertising API from Snapchat. While an ad API makes sense, Snapchat has an unfortunate history with API vulnerabilities.
