Backend-as-a-Service provider Espresso Logic has continued to build on its RESTful API services this week with the launch of the new Live Browser feature. The new service allows enterprise and business customers to first convert any database into an API, and then to create an application “in 30 seconds”. VP of Business Development, Ron Kaplan, talked to ProgrammableWeb about how the new service can be used to prototype and test an API design based on a company’s existing data assets.
DatumBox provides a machine learning platform that specializes in natural language processing. The DatumBox API enables developers to integrate various DatumBox tools into third party applications, websites, or software. Through the API, developers can add any of the DatumBox features (e.g. text analysis, sentiment analysis, Twitter analysis, spam detection, and more).
FullContact has announced the CardShark API. The CardShark API allows users to "to send images of business cards to FullContact, and...receive back a response containing transcribed structured contact data." The advantage the API method of optical character recognition over competitors lies in the ability to send contacts to devices and applications beyond the device that captured the initial picture.
