The Twitch API lets developers integrate popular Twitch features, such as live broadcasting, chat and video analytics into their own application. Talk has surfaced that Google is looking to purchase Twitch for $1 billion.
Yahoo has just released a cool new embeddable media player, Yahoo WebPlayer, that supports MP3 and WMA files, as well as multiple services like YouTube and Yahoo Video. Yahoo has also launched a whole new site to attract publishers and developers and to encourage them to use the player when publishing audio and video across the Web.
The legendary Billboard charts are now open for mixing, not by DJs, but by programmers. Billboard, a service of Nielsen Business Media, has a new API that lets developers search and read information from all the Billboard historical charts. The initial offering is its Chart service and later on Billboard will "roll out the Artist and Track services to add even more depth and perspective." the API is a simple REST interface that developers can send HTTP GET requests to in a familiar service/version/resource fashion.
