Genability, an energy data firm that enables new energy companies such as solar developers and EV manufacturers to integrate smart energy solutions into their products and services, recently announced an initiative that will distribute solar savings data, via an API, to consumers and players in the solar energy market.
The US YellowPages, owned by AT&T, has revamped its developer offerings to launch a robust set of YellowPages APIs. The company also added a modern developer portal, with the ability to track API calls and test queries. The new service is part of a growing trend to share more local data via API. To kick off the new service, AT&T also launched a contest for developers.
Hackers across the country are getting ready to participate in the first annual National Day of Civic Hacking which will take place in over 80 cities on June 1st and 2nd, 2013. The two day event will bring together citizens, developers, government agencies and entrepreneurs to create applications using publicly available APIs and datasets, to help solve a civic or social problem impacting the local community.
