The SocialSharesCount Go SDK by Sumesh Suvarna allows developers to get the share count of a given URL on popular social sites from their Go applications. This SDK covers the Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Stumbleupon, Buffer, Mail.ru, Vkontakte, and Odnoklassniki APIs. The Google Plus and Reddit APIs will be covered in the future.
Twitter has cut Emojitracker's access to its Streaming API, causing its creator, Matthew Rothenberg, to announce that he will shut the service down in April. Emojitracker provides a real-time visualization of emoji symbol usage on Twitter and has tracked some 14 billion emoji tweets.
While the furor around Facebook's Cambridge Analytica scandal have died down, the world's largest social network continues to make changes to its APIs "to better protect people’s information". Today, it announced that a number of its APIs will only be accessible to apps that have been reviewed.
