The Splunk SDK contains library code and examples designed to enable developers to build applications using Splunk. With the Splunk SDK for Ruby developers can write Ruby applications to programmatically interact with the Splunk engine. The SDK is built on top of the REST API, providing a wrapper over the REST API endpoints. The Ruby SDK enables developers to search data, run saved searches, work with search jobs, manage Splunk configurations and objects, integrate search results into applications, log directly to Splunk, and to present a custom UI.
Factual provides easy access to the data that drives mobile, web, and enterprise applications. Factual recently improved upon its 58 million points of interest when it enhanced its Restaurants Data. Factual added over 400,000 restaurants to its database (bringing the total count over 1.2 million) and expanded the attributes available. DNA testing provider 23andMe has informed developers that it will be shuttering its public API in two weeks to focus on apps that use its internal reports. The API was intended to give developers the ability to build apps and tools that took advantage of the company’s genetic data sets.
