Appy Pie, cloud based mobile apps builder, has announced the inclusion of two new music APIs for its Do-it-Yourself mobile application platform. Integration with the SoundCloud and Beatport APIs will allow users to access their music libraries remotely without consuming mobile device memory.
While industry analysts expected this year to be the year Mobile Backend-as-a-Service (MBaaS) took off, end-of-year assessments are suggesting that there is still room for further growth in 2014. Forecasters predict a 104% annual growth in the market to reach $7.7 billion in 2017, while this week's acquisition of MBaaS vendor StackMob by PayPal has piqued more than a few businesses' curiosity. Meanwhile, analysts from Forrester and major players like Rich Mendis from AnyPresence believe the MBaaS revolution is still yet to happen for the enterprise.
Skytap, enterprise cloud service provider, offers the Skytap API which enables users to automate complex operations related to the Skytap Cloud resources. Zettaset, a big data focused enterprise software company, chose to integrate with the Skytap API. The choice came after early integration tests proved a simple migration progress from on-premise environments to a cloud based solution.
