The Swrve Android SDK by Swrve New Media allows developers to integrate the Swrve API into their Android applications. This SDK requires Android 2.3.3+, although it can handle older versions with a dummy SDK.
After months of anticipation, Facebook officially launched its Places feature to check-in to nearby locations and share the place with your friends. The launch includes an API extension to its Graph API, which will first be read only. Launch partners include location-sharing platforms Foursquare and Gowalla, which are part of a private beta for the upcoming read/write API.
Given the increasing popularity of mobile devices such as the iPhone and Android devices (both of which include full browsers), it should come as no surprise that developers have begun to leverage the various APIs out there to provide mobile mashups that can be implemented without targeting a specific platform or SDK.
