Google has introduced a one-click payment experience via a new Payment Request API. The API eliminates the need for a traditional checkout experience by handling the payment experience through a simple API call. The service is not a payment method, nor does it integrate with payment processors.
Intuit Inc. has announced the release of an updated version of the QuickBooks Online API which is now free to developers to use in building third-party applications. The company also announced the launch of Intuit Apps.com, a new store where users of QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online can find add-on applications that provide added functionality in categories including customer management, billing and invoicing, financial and sales management.
APIs are no longer technical nice-to-haves. These three letters are being spoken in board rooms and used as the basis for business strategy.
