A good API is the secret to being able to test earlier, which means finding problems earlier in the software process. Perhaps earlier enough to prevent the delays, certainly earlier enough to save time. If you want to test earlier and be more effective, this is the place to start.
The US Department of Education has issued a Request for Information (RFI) regarding the use of APIs in higher education data, student aid programs and processes. The goal of the RFI is to gather ideas that will increase the openness of higher education data, processes, and aid to students and families. The RFI is directed towards all interested parties, and submissions will be accepted through June 2, 2014.
Ten APIs have been added to the ProgrammableWeb directory in categories including Video, Education, Graphics, and Games. One highlight today is an API from Instructure that can be used to make learning management system and other education applications. Here's a rundown of the latest additions.
