Thanksgiving is one of those times of the year when everyone naturally gets a little more retrospective. With that in mind now is as good a time as any to reflect on what developers should be thankful for in 2012. To that end, arguably the thing that made developers in the last year more productive than any time in recent memory was RESTful APIs. After all, the value of any application rises in almost direct proportion to the number of other applications it can be integrated with. Google announced the release of the Google My Business API v4.3 with new functionality such as the ability to read and respond to questions and answers from customers, bulk-read reviews, see unclaimed locations that Google thinks you may own, report issues with GoogleLocations results and more.
Google has made good on the previous news that it will shutter the GData Admin Settings API. The company first announced plans to sunset the API in August 2016, and later extended the API's lifespan through October 31, 2018. Now, the day of reckoning is here. Are you ready for the change?
