Kippt, designed to make information workflow and archiving effortless, has launched a new API alongside a developer site and app gallery. The new, publicly available API simply opens up the existing Kippt API that continues to power the Kippt web service. Instead of pushing Kippt as a standalone product, the Kippt team hopes that the Kippt API will encourage developers to develop apps based on the Kippt platform.
Nine APIs have been added to the ProgrammableWeb directory in categories including Internet of Things, Messaging, and Social Media. Featured today are APIs from CronAlarm, for integrating with the cron jobs platform, and from The Things Network, a crowdsourced IoT networking platform.
Gowalla, the location aware social networking service, has announced the release of their first public API (our Gowalla API profile). This will help them keep up with other location-centric social services like Foursquare's new API.
