Qualcomm Vuforia offers augmented reality experiences. In Fall 2014 Vuforia SDK for Digital Eyewear will provide immersive visual features through an apparatus that will be commercially available in the future. The site mentions that Beta will be available as a Unity extension. The SDK can be useful for developers who aim to enhance visual exposure in smartphones and tablets.
Google wants developers to make more immersive virtual reality environments for Google Cardboard. In order to help app writers do that, Google updated the Cardboard SDK to include support for spatial sound. In other words, VR apps are about to get a big boost in audio quality.
