The Whiplash Python SDK allows developers to access and integrate the Whiplash functionality with other applications through Python. Whiplash is an order management system that stores and ships eCommerce products for online merchants.
In this first of a series of articles about encouraging API adoption, I talked with Blair Beckwith, Developer Advocate and App Store Lead from Shopify. Shopify is an e-commerce platform for selling just about anything you can think of from 50 Cent's headphone collection to fancy, leather laptop bags. There are two kinds of "developer" on Shopify: 1) those who create templates that dictate the look and feel of a site, and 2) those who create add-ons that are available in the shopkeeper add-on store. In this article, I'm going to concentrate on the second one, the add-on developers.
ShippingEasy consists of a cloud-based platform that allows online merchants to manage the processing and tracking of orders from a single interface. Merchants can integrate shipping information from multiple sites (e.g. eBay, personal site, physical warehouse, etc.) with the same interface and shop rates across various carrier lines. In addition to over ten existing integrations with e-commerce sites (e.g. Magento, eBay, Shopify, etc.), ShippingEasy offers a custom API that allows developers to incorporate the ShippingEasy platform into third party apps and sites.
