Panasonic has announced a facial recognition API under its μSockets B2B IoT service. Although Panasonic has built a strong portfolio of facial recognition technology over the years, it has never provided access to the developer community at large through an API. It is currently available in Japan.
About a year after Google introduced the Hangouts Chat API, it is enhancing the ability to build chatbots by supporting both Dialogflow and Hubot. Dialogflow allows developers to leverage natural language processing to train bots. Hubot allows developers to build bots for multiple platforms.
Google wants to see more voice-enabled apps and the search giant took a big step in order to help make that become a reality. Today Google offered its Cloud Speech API to developers, who can add transcription, dictation, and spoken command features to their own apps. The API is initially free.
