Facebook is about to squeeze your apps. Later this month the social networking giant will decrease the width of applications that display on a user's profile page. The move, planned for some time, will reduce the horizontal screen real estate for applications by over 30 percent.

Sunnyvale-based Telenav has released mobile SDKs for both iOS and Android so developers can power the navigation and location components of their applications with the crowdsourced-based OpenStreetMap. In addition to offering flexibility over styling, the SDKs and APIs are designed to give developers the ability to brand their own maps. According to the company, hybrid online/offline navigation is one of the key differentiators from Google and Apple's mapping services.
