Earlier this month, ProgrammableWeb reported that WSO2 had launched the WSO2 App Factory, a brand new cloud-enabled enterprise DevOps platform that allows project teams to collaborate on the creation, deployment and management of enterprise applications. WSO2 has just announced the launch of another brand new platform; the WSO2 User Engagement Server (UES), a platform that allows developers and enterprise professionals to create customized dashboards, microsites and gadgets with enterprise data and 3rd party data sources which makes it possible to convert volumes of data into valuable business insights and to create engaging user experiences.
The existence of APIs has made it possible for organizations to collect and aggregate unprecedented amounts of customer data. What’s not so clear is how to actually go about harnessing it. That issue is giving rise to a host of customer intelligence applications that leverage APIs to ingest data and then, in turn, make analysis of that data available via an external API.
The whole point of embracing an agile software development methodology is to increase the speed at which applications are moved into production. The challenge is that increasing the number of applications and updates can easily overwhelm an IT operations team, which inevitably leads to a catastrophic failure that winds up taking an application offline.
